1960 Game Used Jersey. Autographed by Harry Walker. Offered for sale is a rare flannel baseball jersey with the original tall Birds on the Bat embroidered onto the front and a vintage’3′ sewn onto the back. This jersey was worn in 1960 as identified by the’60’ embroidered on the left lower portion along with a wash tag and year flag on the inside of the jersey. The embroidered name has been removed (most likely when it was sent down to the minor leagues, much like all of the flannel jerseys back in those days). The jersey was originally #27 and was later changed to #3. 2 different players wore #27 during the 1960 season – Dick Gray and Julio Gotay. The jersey is signed on the inside collar by Harry Walker. Harry played 11 seasons in the Major Leagues, taking 2 years during the prime of his career to serve his country during WWII. He played for the Philidalphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, but most notably, for the St. He played on 2 All-Star teams and won 2 World Series Championships with the Cardinals. He finished out his career with the Cards, playing his last game in 1955, so this is not a jersey that he would have worn. But the signature does look amazing on this vintage flannel.
